Did you know?
Herotodus (5th BC Greek Historian) wrote about the Cinnamon Bird, a type of bird that lived in Arabia and used cinnamon to build its nest. Arabians got the cinnamon from the birds by tempting them with large chunks of raw meat. When the birds took heavy chunks of meat back to their nests it caused them to collapse and rain down cinnamon, which could then be collected by people. Pliny the Elder wrote that the Cinnamon Bird didn’t exist, it was just a tale invented to raise the price of cinnamon.
