Rose Geranium is a very calming and balancing essential oil, one of the best oils for eliminating toxins and general congestion within the body. It has a fresh floral aroma with a hint of rose.

Aromatherapy Uses

Nervous: anxiety, nervous fatigue, neuralgia, restlessness, Raynaud’s, integrates mind and body.
Skin: acne, excess oil, dehydration, wounds, burns, broken capilleries, impetigo.
Digestive: diarrhoea, flatulence, colitis, jaundice, diabetes, detoxifies liver, pancreas, gall bladder.
Circulatory: poor circulation, cleanses blood, cellulite, fluid retention, oedema.
Immune: tonsillitis.
Muscular-skeletal: rheumatism, swellings, stiffness, pain.
Endocrine/Reproductive: breast congestion, candida, painful periods, pmt.
Urinary: cystitis, kidney stones.

Rose Geranium is a middle note essential oil and blends well with bergamot and other citrus oils, jasmine, juniper, patchouli, rose, and sandalwood. It is made through steam distillation of leaves and flowers.

The French began oil production of Rose Geranium in earnest in 1847, from an island in the Southwestern Indian Ocean called Ile de Bourbon – now called Ile de Reunion, hence another common name for Rose Geranium essential oil, Bourbon la Reunion. Rose scented Geranium is also known as Storksbill – not to be confused with True Geranium known as Cranesbill.
